NFL scores: What games were close?, Who got blown out?, and Who took care of business?

It is week seven of the National Football League (NFL) season and there were some games that were close, others that were flat out domination by the winners, and some that were not in either category. I’ll talk about all of those scorers and provide win loss record updates today in this blog post.

Let's start with the close games of the week. For reference when I say close I mean decided by a Touchdown or less so a win decided by six points or less. There were four games this week that fit that criteria this week. In a battle of AFC West teams the Oakland Raiders squeak the Kansas Chiefs 31-30 The Raiders improve to 3-4 while the Chiefs fall to 5-2 overall the chiefs have lost two games in a row after a 5-0 start. In an AFC east battle the Miami Dolphins just edge out the New York Jets 31-28. Miami improves to 4-2 and the Jets record falls to 3-4. In an inter conference matchup the Buffalo Bills escape the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 Buffalo gains win number 4 out of 6 to reach 4-2 and the Buccaneers fall to 2-4. Lastly the Tennessee Titans narrowly defeat the Cleveland Browns 12-9. Tennessee's win lets them reach 4-3 and the browns remain winless at 0-7 . In the games that were won in dominating fashion we have the Jacksonville Jaguars destroying the Indianapolis Colts 27-0 The jags climb the win plateau and reach 4-3 while the colts fall again to 2-5. The Dallas Cowboys obliterate the San Francisco 49ers 40-10. Dallas earns win number 3 to get back to .500 with a 3-3 record and San Francisco falls again to 0-7. Seattle crushes the New York Giants 24-7 earning win number 4 to get to 4-2 and the Giants' free fall continues to 1-6. The Chargers shut out the Denver Broncos 21-0 improving the Chargers record to 3-4 and dropping the Broncos to 3-3. Elsewhere, the New England Patriots route the Atlanta Falcons in a super bowl rematch 23-7. The patriots improve to 5-2 while the Falcons stumble to 3-3. Lastly the LA rams continue to make noise around the league as they dismantle the Arizona Cardinals 33-0. The Rams continue their surprise season at 5-2 and the Cardinals’ record dips to 3-4.

We have a few of games that fit neither a close game or a blowout. Those games were The New Orleans Saints outlasting the Green Bay Packers 26-17 to win their fourth in a row at 4-2 and drop the packers to 4-3. The Chicago Bears stun the Carolina Panthers 17-3 to earn win number three and improve their overall record to 3-4, while the panthers fall to 4-3 on the year. The Pittsburgh Steelers cruise past the Cincinnati Bengals 29-14. Pittsburgh improves to 5-2 and the Bengals fall 2-4. The Eagles of Philadelphia hanging on to beat the Washington Redskins 34-24 to soar to 6-1 overall and dip the redskins record to 3-3. Lastly the Minnesota Vikings stiffle the Baltimore Ravens 24-16 improving to 5-2 and handing the Ravens their fourth loss for a 3-4 record.
